Directions
The shop is located in cottage premises within the car park of Dobbies Garden Centre, Milngavie, directly opposite the Centre.
Dobbies Garden Centre, Milngavie, is based in a pleasant rural setting. Two miles away is the centre of Milngavie, which is the start of the West Highland Way. Also nearby is the Mugdock Country Park. Travelling northwards within half-an-hour you will reach Aberfoyle and the Trossachs. Whilst quilters enjoy visiting the shop, there are many facilities at Dobbies for the rest of the family. Ample free and secure parking close to the shop at all times.
Classes & Workshops
Beginners and intermediate courses during the day on a Monday and Friday held in our classroom at Dobbies Garden Centre, Milngavie. Please contact us on 01360 622 815 or e-mail to receive details of the 8 week courses. We are so very lucky to have Maureen who teaches our beginners and intermediate students. Maureen is City and Guilds qualified, extremely well organised and prepared for each class. Many students have expressed how delighted they are to have learnt so much including confidence with choosing fabrics, colours and technical accuracy. Some of our students in our beginners class have been quilting for a number of years and expressed the wish to "come back to basics".
During the year we have additional one day workshops held by Maureen and a variety of invited teachers. Please contact us if you would like to receive details of our workshops.
We would like to thank Pembertons of Stirling who supply our new sewing machines each year. Pembertons service sewing machines and each Wednesday they provide a free collection service from our shop for those wishing to have their own sewing machine serviced. Alternatively you can visit their quilt shop and arrange to have your sewing machine serviced.
Group Visits
We are pleased to welcome groups either for weekday, weekend or evening visits. We are overwhelmed and grateful to learn the distance people travel to visit our shop. We are happy for groups to use our workshop during their visit and would be pleased to prepare a short demonstration for your group. There is a large carpark and ample parking for cars and coaches.
As soon as you enter our shop you’ll be greeted by a colourful array of fabric bolts, fabric bundles, kits, books, patterns, wadding and notions.
