This book presents a three-step technique for adding layers of visual interest to representational quilts. The steps are: making a design based on a photograph or a drawing; adding a 'ghost' shape that is lighter or darker than the base block colours; and creating a colour wash that allows use of more colours in the quilt. The blocks are constructed using raw-edge or turned-edge applique. The book also includes the author's seven-step programme for choosing perfect fabric combinations.
