Hilde Hoogwaerts is a Dutch quilter. She and her husband have lived in many parts of the world, and after 30 years on the move, they have finally returned home. It was in the United States, in Georgia, that she discovered patchwork. It accompanied her on her travels all the way to Ghana in Africa, where she found her first wax fabrics at a local market. Hilde fell in love with the rich colours and patterns, and since then has worked exclusively with them, even back home! And that’s when she discovered that the most beautiful fabrics were Dutch and produced just a few kilometres from home!
This book, bursting with energy and colour, is totally dedicated to them, and the 14 projects that are explained highlight the superb prints. Creative, contemporary and traditional at the same time, it is suitable for all levels of expertise and creativity. All patterns are explained in inches and centimetres, accompanied by full-size templates and richly illustrated with magnificent photos.
